I found myself up at Flaming Gorge this past weekend. With the new snow and colder weather I was interested to see if the Kokanee were active. I launched from Anvil and headed south. The water was a cool 43.5 degrees. I stopped just before the pipeline and decided to fish. I hade my line out less than 10 minutes before I had my first kokanee. The fish I caught were all around 2 pounds and Crazy! Most times jumping before my fishing pole had time to react. I caught most of them 20 feet down. I only saw a few on my sonar but they were there in good numbers by my catch rate. I will admit it was pretty cold and windy but when the fish are biting it makes you forget the cold.signfishin

Thanks for the report
I will fish for the big lakers then try to find the kokes.
I will be there Tue, WED and Thursday.
you must have been by the cliffs. do you want to share what you were using.

I got there there 15th and left the 19th.

spent a few hours trolling for kokes. 2 on, one got off 20ft back, I kept the 16 for the smoker. Didn't spend much time trolling as I didn't have my downriggers mounted up yet, just snap weights.

I jigged for lakers mostly, the 16th and 17th it pretty much snowed, and snowed, and snowed...
