today I went fishing on lake samamish wa. and cought a 14'' koke.I was suprised to find it had yellow worm/magats, all over it. I let it go but Im still creep't out.Anyone know what they were?182249_201900203153758_100000013385004_793263_7036879_s.jpg
 
We have those in our lakes and I had asked one time too. They are some sort of parasite and sorry I dont remember the name. I was told it was from the warmer waters and that they were fine to eat. Personally a fish covered in red spots covered with worms is not going on my plate.
 
It's hard to tell that's even a kokanee with all those dark spots. I hate to see a fish in that condition...sure as heck wouldn't keep it!101no101
 
From the small picture on the screen it does look like a trout with all of those spots.
 
always cook fish until the meat flakes apart
some of these parasites will infect man also.
the crawfish has a real nasty worm that likes human brain

anchor worm, common in western US fish, especially with the warming temps.

Thats a copepod on your fish. Not a human concern. Very common parasite of freshwater fishes.
 
I concur with JWS and why2fish the Rainbow in Roosevelt also have a fair number of those on them.
