I finally made the first Kokanee trip of the year to Berryessa with my daughter and we had a great time battling big fish. In the end we kept 6 nice Kokes from 14.5 to 16.75 and lost just as many to aerials and battles before they got to the net. There were a number of smaller fish rattling the lines as well and plenty of short strikes to keep us on our toes. It wasn't a hot bite but it came in flurries and the lake had been very busy the day before with a lot of boats so the radio consensus was it was a much slower day than Friday.
It was a RMT Assassin (Pink, Pink-Green, Tropical) day for us along with some Hoochies in the mix and one nice one on a Pink Apex. All fish from 8 to 25 feet with longer setbacks and various corn and dodger flavors.
Here's some pics of the event...
Semi cloudy day most of the time...
