Fished Berryessa on Saturday with the wife and one of the kids and we found a few fish but it was a pretty slow day overall. We went 5 for 9 on the fish with a couple of Kings in the mix. The fish were generally in the 25 to 40 foot range with 30 feet being the ideal depth. The algae that was on the lake a month earlier has settled out and visibility is about 19 feet. Water temp was 73 on top and the Kokanee water of 60 degrees and below was about 25 feet down.

The fish took a variety of lures which include...

Orange and a Gold Apex - Naked
Red RGT - with RMT Hyperplaid
Glow and Pink U.V. Hoochie with various Slingblade.

We had a couple of great aerials on the big fish and also had an Osprey try to steal a 16 incher about 20 feet from the boat but he missed. I caught just a portion of that on video. I did observe some great video underwater with a school of kokanee "lookers" that hung around for about 4 minutes making passes at the lure but due to technical difficulties it did not record. :-(

A highlight was at the end when a nice King of 18" took me for a small ride. Here's some video and a few pics.

Way to go, Kevin! That King looks nice and fat. The few I've caught at Berryessa have been a lot skinnier than that. The last king we caught was a 17 incher that my wife caught with her special trolling technique of wrapping the line in the prop and letting me untangle it.
