Fished Berryessa a week ago with first mate Rachel and we had a great time. It's taken me a while to put together the report mainly because I was messing with the video and needed time to compile it. We kept 6 fish and lost that many as well. The weather was a bit rough when the wind came up but it was hard to resist hooking up on the late season Kokes in full vampire mode.

The fish we boated were taken on a Pink U.V. Apex and a pink spinner and were mainly 75 to 85 feet although you could see fish higher I was after the big ones down low. We were mainly the mouth of the narrows to across from Skier's cove. There were only a few other boats out fishing that weekend so there was little pressure. Berryessa has been awesome this year and hopefully next year will be the same. On with the video and picture show...

Here's the Youtube video link....

It wasn't long before we hooked up with a nice one...

Tks for the comments. Rachel and Jenna do like having fun with the video.

Vance - At 1:49 and 3:29 in the video that was a silver prism tape Vance's dodger - one of my favorites from your collection. I believe I was running a pink spinner behind it. The visibility was marginal since it was 75-85 feet and a good deal of plankton and a semi cloudy day to boot. I'm kind of surprised I got any video to salvage from the trip as the deeper water shots are always a crap shoot. I should have taken my boat to Tahoe when I had the chance while at Stampede as I want to get some clear water Kokanee shots at some point.

Hi Kevin,

It is very cool that you along with your daughters are able to get this terrific footage. Especially at those deep depths, I want to thank you for sharing these video's for they truly show us what is going on in the "depths".

I saw the dodgers you spoke about, I could tell by the unique action as they trolled.

I also noticed one of your rods has perfect action but the guides on the tip are messed up....laugh hystthumbsup

Thanks for taking us on another HiTech adventure! Those were some real slabs you and Rachel were catching...great job!!thumbsup

I was out there yesterday and started fishing where I saw marks and had a fun day with Kings to just under 16", fishing 55 - 65' deep. We boated 11 fish, 6 kings, 2 trout, 2 Kokes and 1 bass. Even if the kokes are over till next year, still fish to be caught at Berry.

Yah - It came that way from the manufacturer... I thought they were crazy at first but then I ended up buying several more and still use them as part of the stable in the rod locker. tongue2 I'll be toting one to Diamond lake for the derby this coming weekend amongst a ton of other stuff.

Sounds like it was a full day.. .I actually got a King on video playing among the Kokes with erratic behavior. It was a first to catch a King on video.
