lake samish, whatcom county

question, does anyone fish lake samish during the winter months?

Hello redfred, I have seldom fished Lake Samish in the winter time. Very few times and with only linited results. one time I fished for 3 or 4 hours and caught 1 squaw fish. The next time i caught a perch. Never any Koks . I must have never used the right method for Winter Koks.

thanks for the reply, i read the reports of fishing at lake chelan and lake merwin during the winter time and thought, i'll ask on this forum about lake samish. from what i've seen samish does't have a super great fishery.

I fish Lake Samish throughout the summer but not really during the winter months. I have tried early runs in the cold but haven't caught much. I doesn't seem to pick up until it starts to warm up a bit. Once it starts to warm up in the spring the fishing can be excellent.
