Hello all,
I fished Lake Samish for about 3 hours today. Water temp. was 41.5* to 42'4*. The fishernem I talked to did not catch anything , Except the two guys anchored in 50ft of water and fishing on the bottom for squaw fish. They caught quite afew. I managed 1 squaw fish on the surface with a pink wedding ring and a pink mini dodger. Bait was corn. Did not want to be skunked. The water was the same temp middle of January. Hope it improves soon.

Iowe, do you have any idea's on how to warm that water up about 10 degrees. Holy smokes, that is still cold. At least you got out there. Let's hope things start to warm a bit or it could be tough for awhile.

If we all get together and run our motors it will get warmer. I don't know how long it will take, but it will work.nananana- I'm doing my part.

My co worker went a week before you did, water was in the high 30's and nothing was biting.
We had gone Jan 14th and surprisingly put 2 in the box within 15 minutes of each other and that was it for the day.
Those of us that fish Samish, if nothing else at least post that water temp when you go. Hoping we don't have to wait too much longer for it to warm up.

At Lake Samish today. Water temp was 48.5 at launch ramp. A few fish were hitting the surface. The ski boats beat me to the water as I got there at 10:00 A.M. I trolled to the NW end of the lake(the deep end- 145 ft.) The temp was 51.5 and went up to 52. No hits. Back to the ramp, and the fish were jumping everywhere. As I got there, two jet skis launched and circled the area a few times. I loaded up.
I then spent 1/2 hour helping another boat get started. About then one of the other two boats out fishing came in. They said that in the 1/2 hour since I came in they had 10 hits. A couple of doubles, but no fish landed. Then the bite stoped.
A beautiful day, little wind and air temps in the mid 50s. Acouple of more days like today and it should be fish.
Chris
