i'm sure there is a thread about these rods already, but i couldnt find it. what does everyone think of these jared johnson series rods? ive read some pretty good things on them, so ordered a couple up. not a big fan of the color, but if they fish well, i guess it doesnt matter. plus, for only $52 a piece, it didnt really hurt. i can soon put my new tica kt101's on them!!

where are you getting them for $52 a piece at?

Blueback, do you have them already? I thought I remembered the reel seat lock being the top piece of the grip. This is just from memory the one time I fought a fish with Bduck's JJ rod. I don't care for those type of reel seat & lock types. The blank feels like it wobbles inside the handle to me. Again, I'm just going from memory on a one time event but you or another rod owner can confirm whether that is the handle type or not.

I have two and I think their great. I haven't found them for less than $74 so that's an excellent price !

super d,
dont have them yet. just ordered them about 5 hours ago. i think the confirmation said 7-10 days on delivery. my dad just got a couple of those tica rods, and i thought the action was a bit light. they'll be a blast for kokes, but i want something with a bit more backbone.

I had 4 of them and loved them, the biggest thing for me was the color. I'm kinda a RED guy.
I've also owned all 3 different anglers touch rods

I now have these 4 rods in my boat
kufa kokanee pr kc802ul
Daiwa spinmatic 762ulfb
lamiglas kokanee downrigger cg70dr
Tica kokanee superultra lite klea76sul2

and looking at putting 3 more rods
a JJ rod
vance spiral wrap kokanee rod
lamiglas fc76ul

I have one and love the way it handles and plays the koks out. The glass rod is a lot better than graphite for this application. Would love to try the FC76UL but I can't get a great price on them. I've had no issues with the handle on this rod, it works flawlessly.

Now, for the painful part for you guys. I bought this rod for $44.95 at my local sporting goods store. They NOW have this rod on sale for their 64 year anniversary for, get this, $39.97. nananana

We have two we bought two years ago and they look like they were assembled by a first grader. The butt caps are on as crooked as they could possibly be and they just look cheaply built overall. I do like the color though.

I had no choice as they were ordered online. I will never buy anything else from the Shop I bought them through as these rods should have never been sent as is.

We were in contact with someone from Lamiglas last year to return them for new rods but that never materialized. I'm not sure I want to add shiping charges onto the beating I already took buying these rods.

They would be nice rod for the Gorge which is what they were designed for. They are just way too much rod for the Kokes we catch here in Idaho.

I have 2 of them and so far I love them....I live 10 minutes from Lamiglas but found them cheaper at a sporting goods store. These are not "True" Lami rods the are made in China that is why they are less expensive that the hand made ones here in Woodland. If my future plans work out I am going to start making my own rods and ditch the china stuff. That being said the 12-14" Koks put up quite a fight on these rods and are a blast to use.

What kind of a price difference is there?

well, the shipped confirmation (email) just came today so thats good. also, went out for some kokes today and used my dads jj lami rod for the first time. i was quite pleased. i've got a rainshadow rdr76ul sitting in my rod rack half built. i get mad everytime i walk by it....because i havent had the time, or the drive to finish it. i've heard they fish awesome. maybe one day i'll find out. ha ha ha.

I cant remember the exact price but it seemed to me they were $10 a piece cheaper than to buy direct at "list" price. I was in the store a couple of months later and they had them on sale for even less. I think they were 49.99 on sale.

Their normal sticker price is $59.99. They had em on sale a couple weeks ago for $39.99. Can't pass that price up regardless where they were made.
