So last weekend was the DU derby, and the weather on Saturday afternoon was well noticed by everyone, quite a few trying to hold up in the smaller bays to avoid the big swells. The story here is really more about Friday. As we went out Friday to search for the favorite hole, we caught a whopper...5.3 pounds and just over 23 inches. Go figure, a half day before the derby starts. During the derby we caught quite a few more nice fish between 3.25 and 4.0 pounds, but couldn't get enough to place. The derby winner was 4.27 I believe. The big pig we got took the Black Pearl spinner behind a Shatterred dodger, as did most of the weekend's fish. I actually ran two poles with that set-up. The Bread and Butter spinner behind a Silver Streak dodger was the next best hitting set-up, followed by KCT's little High Voltage Spoons behind Matrix dodgers. I hope to get the pictures figured out soon to share with you all, just not sure what the heck I'm doing from the camera to the PC. Sorry
