We fished The Gorge this past weekend 8-17,18. From the other reports that were posted I beleive we don't know what we are doing. We started out fishing the anvil area. My wife caught a nice rainbow right off the bat and that was it. We marked fish all over but could find no takers. About 9:30am we decided to head over to the pipeline. We ended up boating 2 little macs and one small koke. The koke came in at 1lb 5 ounces and the biggest mac came in at 2 lbs. We called it at about 1pm and went in for lunch. Went back out for a few hours around 5 and were blown off the lake without boating another fish. Sunday we moved over to Holmes crossing and washed every lure in my tackle box. We got out on the lake around 7:30am and called it a day at 1:30pm. Fish count was one rainbow as we were pulling lines in to leave. Anyone up for a day trip to show me what I did wrong.

Here are a couple of things to try,

1. Get on the water early, the main part of the bite is from before sunrise until about 9:30. Once the sun is brite, the fish seem to shut off

2. Troll around 1.5 to 1.8. Troll in S turns..it gives your lures more action by speeding and slowing. I also speed up some times for a short burst.

3. Set your lures to troll above the fish. If you are marking fish at 50 feet, troll some at 45 or 42

4. Change lures often, find what they want. If you do, put more than one out there. If they want white squids , run 4 of them !!

I'm no expert, there are guys on this forum that are, but these tips should help, go get 'em !!

Sorry I missed you. Would have liked to have met you. I work a Sunday-Thursday shift so we were on our way home Saturday when you stopped by. I will be back in the same spot Sept 6-9th. Hope to see you there.
