This site is a wealth of knowledge for someone like me just getting ready to try this fishery. I'm going back through a lot of the members' previous posts trying to gather as much info as possible.

On one thread I read a lot of you use a "loop knot" rather than a swivel. Is this the same as the "non-slip Loop Knot" described at http://www.netknots.com/html/non_slip_loop_knot.html?

If not, can someone give me a better idea of how the knot is tied?

Can you specify your application? My most common knot is a palomar and is a form of a loop knot.

If you are refering to the loop vs. swivel at the leader end to the dodger, it is simply a loop tied into an over hand knot.

One easy knot for this is a surgeon's loop. Running the loop through the knot two times straightens out the finished loop so it tracks better in the water. Make the loop large enough to fit your lure and simply place the finished loop through the mainline connection of your flasher or other attractor, thread your lure through the loop and pull. It makes for a quick change.
