Beautiful day on the lake Sunday. No Wind, No Rain....quite a few boats. Only came home with 3 and had 5 take downs. Should of been more but couldn't find the big school.

The fishing has been great this year!

All fish caught on Sling blades and wiggle hoochies from Shasta.

2 short of a 6 man limit but we needed to head out, I bet if we stayed another 10 min we would have got those last 2.

Gave a couple fish to a nice older man in the parking lot when we came in.

Fish were shallow and very particular to the scent we were using.

1 fish was 15 3/4 on the tape, would of loved to call it a "16"...

Goducks12 I see 5 keepers in that photo.
GoneCatchin, that hat answers my question about what a TrollMonkey might look like (Trollmonkey is a forum member's name).
I was fishing Odell Lake when I could only say "Odo Yake". Fond memories of hooks caught in mittens and persistent fear of frostbite. Wish I had pushed my kids harder to fish when they were less likely to push back.

Thanks eenakoK,

Just found the site and saw there's a Merwin following. Looking forward to some more reports and a great season up there.

Fish Dork,

Man I wish I would of coined that phrase out in the boat.... too funny! Nathan was a great little fisherman. He got the biggest kick out of letting 1 little trout go instead of keeping the other... oh well, he'll learn!

Thanks for the great reports! Nothing better than taking kids fishing. Can't wait until our Grand Kids get old enough. Looks like I'll have to make another trip (or two) to Merwin this year.
