26 Jun well after talking to Kokonuts at the luncheon me and Duroboat rider decided to meet him on the water Sunday morning 0500 we met him on the water and Kokonuts pulled up next to us and said we are going to fish over there and just follow me out and when I stop just drop the gear and follow me, so we did man we landed first fish in under a minute of dropping it on the rigger. Well these Merwin Kokes are huge 14-16 inches we landed all 10 fish by 0800 in the morning then we pulled up next to kokonuts on the water and we talked to him for an hour sharing stories all fish were between 14-16 inches and thick and fat. Here is a picture of 5 because I already dropped Duroboat off at home. The bait of choice was a homemade chartreuse glow tube jig with glow beads under the skirt and on top (picture attached), also RMT super squid chartreuse or pink with glow beads, and a father murphy’s glow bug all with pink maggots and DNA scent behind a Vance’s dodger. Wanted to say Thanks kokonuts for the good time and showing us where to knock them dead!!!

Yeah great looking bunch of kokes!

Kokonuts has been all over the state this year catching kokes! Always try to wave when I see him on the water!

TrollNFisher I've seen your boat on the water at American. I'll try and remember to give you wave next time out! Keep an eye out for my little SmokerCraft.

See you out there!

I was up there on Sunday, too. I got on the water around 7 and scratched up a limit by 10 and then headed over to Yale to see about catching 11 more. I banged out a limit and was done by 1

Yale was very easy catching, but the wind was a bit bothersome. I used the same setup at Yale as I did for Merwin. Green and silver sling blade with a pink hoochie tipped with shoepeg at 33 feet on the 'rigger. The other pole was a silver willow leaf gang troll with 1oz. lead and a green wedding ring at 60ft on the line counter. About equal action for both setups. Troll speed 1.0 to 1.4mph.

Still learning about trolling and the wind. I knitted a very nice sweater arm when I got pointed the wrong direction when the wind kicked up.

I am going to brine and smoke a batch up tonite and will post my results.

A great day on the water.

Peace, Tom
