Went 3 for 6 today BUT had a Crapy day at the lake. 1st the repair shop didn't get my 8 horse motar fixed yet so I went with my electric trolling motar that hasn't been on a boat in years. Soon as we got on the water the tilt bracket broke (probably from cold winters in the garage) it's plastic. Then I jurryrigged that so we can fish then we go to get started and somehow one of the Shuttle Hawks came off and sank to the bottom of Merwin lake (yes I had rubber band in place) and I didn't have a spare so on we go with 1 rod in the other downrigger and 1 flatline out the back. I got 3 14 inchers. Then we started to run low on battery power so I aimed for Speilay Bay and headed to the ramp. We got 1/2 way there and the battery went totaly dead after fishing for only 4 hours. I ended up rowing 2 miles against the wind that just had to start blowing the instant we were without power of course. The wife wouldn't stop laughing at me. I was never so glad to get to that dam boat ramp and on the trailer.
2 fish were on a pink UV slingblade and pink wiggle hootchie (downrigger rod)and the last 1 was on UV Silver Slingblade and red wedding ring. (flatline rod) 15 feet down and back 90 ft on the rigger and 150 ft back on the flatline with no weight.bandmyhead

Thanks for posting your trip. Some times stuff happens. Glad you had the oars on board. I did the same thing with a shuttle hawk at Pelton last year.

Peace, Tom

Now that this thread is cleaned up........

I can relate to having "one of those days" on the water, as a general rule there is usually something that "tries" my patience. But I always try to look at it as an adventure, something to sit around later and laugh about as you tell your story. If ya ever see a green Pro Sport (Duckworth) with a green top out here give me a wave, I will do the same! Especially if you need help, I'm not much for rowing these days, but I would gladly throw you a rope and take you back to the dock.

put a 6" section of super braid on the Shuttle Hawk tied thru a drilled hole at front lip. tie a small interlock snap sz 2 or 3, on the other end of sb. hook snap to DR cable, put SH on cable below snap.

Thanks for the tip smokin kokes. I thought I was pretty safe with the thick rubber band on there.
Sad part about the day there really wasn't anything wrong with me 8 horse kicker that I sent to the shop. I spend hundredes of hours backtrolling wiggle wart, hot shots and bait divers all year and try and get it in the shop every year just before the Cowlitz heats up on springers to get a tune up and replace the water impeller every year. Never use that dang electric but "JUST HAD TO GO" and paid the price for not having ole' faithfull on the transom lol.
