Does anyone know how long you can slow troll with a minkota 55 riptide motor. I have a designated battery for trolling motor and fish finders. A ball park would be great. I need to know whether I will need another battery to fish a full day.worthy12

Depends on a lot of factors such as boat size, condition of battery, weather/water conditions and trolling speed. I know on my minkota I can get about 3 - 4 hours on my pontoon boat (24 volt setup). If wind is up then less.

Thanks Bob. I have an 18 ft. toon. Looks like I better get another battery. Mine isA 12 volt system. I have an on board charger. Do you know if you can charge 3 batteries with a 2 bank charger?
Thanks John

batteries

If you wire the third battery in parallel with the second, they will charge together as if they are one. If you have an automatic charger, then there should be no problemswith a three battery setup and a two bank charger. That is if the two batteries are of the same approx. rating.

wiring

That is correct. I have only two batts for my 12 volt trolling motor, but that is how I wired them. Several cruisers (24 to 32 feet ) have a three battery system wired that way from the factory.

Sorry about the misinformation Saw. Going off the minkota web site it says one bank per battery. I didn't realize you could wire it differently to make it work.
