Minn Kota Power Drive V2

Hi everyone!

Just purchased a brand new Minn Kota - out of the box I see that on the bottom of the foot pedal there is an open slot for 2 double AA batteries that is missing all the metal clips that hold the batteries in place as well as the cover. Is this normal? Does the foot pedal require batteries or this slot just there for accessories? If it does then I'll have to return it as they obviously sent the unit with the foot pedal unfinished!! I haven't installed it yet as I don't want to go through the hassle only to find out it doesn't work.

Dumb question I'm sure, but hey I'm a pretty dumb guy.

Some of the foot pedal bases are a one fits most kinda thing,its what is inside that matters. If it has a cord coming out of the front you "should be OK"

Wouldnt hurt to test it before install it. Just my two cents.

--mine came same way... as stated... mine is plug in with cord and doesn't need batteries in the base. I guess they use same base for different remote model.
