I had dinner with DLM last week and part of the conversation included skeg extensions for Minn Kota trolling motors. If your boat has both a kicker motor and an electric bow mount, you have effectively stretch you batteries for a week by using the electric just for steering. However, to do this, you need to add a rudder to the skeg so that the bow mount will steer the boat. I made this one in the matter of a couple hours use white ABS plastic, glue and a couple SS hose clamps.
