Decided to make a trip to American Thursday evening after work to see if I could get some hits during the evening bite. Fishing was slow from when I launched at 4:30 till about 6:30 PM when the Jet Skiers and the Recreational Boaters stated coming off the water. Bumped into Stratos on the lake and compared notes on where we were marking fish. Although I was getting some “Drive-Bys” at 25ft he was picking up some hits at 40 – 45ft on the wire. So I dropped on line down to 40 and the other down to 45 and it was game on. I landed 3 fish within 45 minutes. One was pretty small but was hooked through the eye so I kept him. I decided to call it quits at 7:30 to get ready for my next fishing trip early Friday morning.
All fish were caught on a “Kokanee Slayer” modified hootchie behind a Bahama Mama 40 to 45 feet down on the wire and 30 pulls back. Trolling speed was 1.2 to 1.4 and water temp was 66 degrees.
