I got some new seats and Pedestals to mount in my boat . What would be the best way to secure the Pedestals to the floor? Nut and Bolts , Lag Bolts ? 101smily101. What would you do?

back the underside of the floor with an aluminum plate and use t-inserts and bolts

It looks like you have a fiberglass boat. If you are mounting pedestals to the deck, you do need to back up the attachment points with something substantial like metal or plywood. Tee-nuts in wood work well as "captured nuts". I'd make the backup plate larger than the pedestals to spread the load on the deck.

I agree, you'll want to spread the load as much as possible. Plywood should be sufficient. I'd try and get the treated stuff though. Definitely use bolts with some kind of locking nut (and/or lock washers). Good luck!

Hi Mark, Once I'm satisfied with the everything I'll take some pictures . I have a few other things that I'm going to do while I'm getting ready for the seats.

Well after checking out the area that I wanted to mount my new seats in , What I found was DISTURBING. Looks like I am going to have a floor to replace in the Winter or first part of next Spring. I can get by for the rest of this season , but I'm going to have to check out the rest of the area and determine just how bad things really are. LOL, always seems to be something.101facepalm101101facepalm101

Sorry to here that Dan. Unfortunately maintaining a boat is not cheap. If it says marine, its chaching.
