Want to pull a line for macks under my koke rigs and was curious about the sinker dropper mentioned here. Have books with charts on order, but untill they get here was hoping someone with a chart could help me out ...Heres the setup 10 lb test mono--1.4mph--want depth of 60 ft--- how much weight on drop rig???

Not real sure what a sinker dropper is.
maybe check here but this isn't very accurate...

To get a more precise depth placement you'd be better off stacking off your downrigger.

edit: to give you an idea of the inaccuracy of weights the Trollers Handbook has a chart that shows for a speed of approx 1.6 mph to get to a depth of 60' useing 100' of 10lb test mono a 2oz weight would get you there.

that seem mighty light. I would have thought more like 1 lb. Was thinking of running a lc reel on a med hvy rod straight down on one of these about midship,, and pulling a mack bait or lure under the koke. Thats where I always see them hanging out..

I thought 2oz was light also. If you go by that link it shows 6oz to get to that same level going 1.5 mph useing 10lb mono. That big of spread just goes to show how inaccurate it really is. Without a downrigger your pretty much just guessing.

unless you use enough wt to go pretty much straight down with a LC reel and counter the blowback. Ordered a couple and will play with it this season,, ahhh, more toys....

Here's another method. The Troll-Eze Depth Marker System goes by line angle. After you rig up exactly how you plan to fish set your speed and let out line until weight and lure are under water. After supporting the rod hold the line right at the tip. Hold the card so the line crosses the center of the bullseye and the top of the card is level (use the shoreline or horizon to measure level.) Note marker line on card that lines up closest with your line angle, then figure out the depth you want to fish and the number of pulls it will take to get you there by the table on back of the card. Each pull is 24" (place a mark on your rod 24" up from the front of the reel.)
If your line angle matches line "I" your pretty much at 45 degrees. To get to the 60' depth it would take 85 pulls (which tranlates to letting out 170' of line.)

Ralph L a good and true method doesn't matter dept or speed you adjust your line's to be at a 45 degree angle you adjust your weight accordingly when your at them angles your fishing, if the angle is more not enough weight when the angle is less to much weight no matter what your trolling for. If your trolling at 1.4 and at 140 ft if you at a 45 degree angle on your rods your perfect add or loss weight.

If I remember correctly the last time I was at Tahoe we long lined 4oz weights, 20lb mono, at around 90' out which got us around 60' down according to our fishing guide. BTW we were using pretty large Al Davis troll rigs.
