I agree that fallriverguy puts a hurting on them fish!
--thanks for using Canadian Kokanee picture... must have been the shirt..
--we are working to improve kokanee fishing in Okanagan and Skaha lakes.. both close to the Boarder and drain into Columbia River system.
--Sockeye have been re-introduced (local hatchery) to Skaha lk so not sure how this will effect the size and numbers of kokanee that natrually spawn in the Okanagan River and now will have Sockeye spawning in the same area.
--If no issues in Skaha... sockeye will likely be allowed into Okanagan as well.
--Osoyoos lk (1/2 lake is in USA) is in same chain of lakes... this year record returns of sockeye which allowed for an opening.. I did manage to catch a kokanee during the sockeye season but most were targeting sockeye. I'm not saying I can tell the difference except that in this case the sockeye had travelled a long way and the kokanee was obviously full silver.
