We launched out of Tuttletown and had lines down at 0500. We gambled on where we should fish, but decided to fish Rose Island to start. Good call because we found the fish. The radio was quiet for the most part, but we saw plenty of net's flying today.

Good to see Glitterbug John at the cleaning station taking care of their catch along with meeting Wes and his father. Everyone had smiles today. Time for the details...

Location: Rose Island area
Depth: 45-60' with 48-52' being the most consistent
Scent: Garlic and unscented
Speed: 1.1 - 1.3 GPS
The gear consisted of Sierra Tackle Pink UV, RMT Pink stripe and Pink Wild Thing dodgers followed by Glitterbug Pink Mini hoochie w/ blade, UL Pink Tiger and Sierra Tackle green/pink spinners. They all put fish in the boat. Just a few pics....

Thanks for the report, Scott! I'm just learning about New Melones. I hope to be trying out my new fish finder there soon.

Hi Scott,

Great to meet you at the cleaning station and chatting with you! :)

I'll just add my report to yours (hope you don't mind), but you pretty much covered everything with yours. I fished the Rose Island area as well from 6:45 to 11:30. My dad and I took my friend who has only fished once ever, and that was with me this past March for Stripers in the delta. We had constant action all morning with a few doubles and triples thrown in the mix. We had 15 by 11:30, but lost between 20 or 30, and had 2 fish stolen by Ospreys within a minute of each other! Haha.

Here's the details from my trip:

Depth: 35 to 65 feet with 40 and 42 feet being the most consistent
Speed: 1.2 to 1.6 GPS speed
Scent: ProCure Kokanee Special Super Gel (after 10:30 AM)
Setups:
- Vance's Tackle copper/pink butt dodger with pink hoochie
- Vance's Tackle silver/green tape dodger with pink Radical Glow tube
- Vance's Tackle silver/green tape dodger with Uncle Larry's pink spinner
- Vance's Tackle silver/green tape dodger with homemade orange spinner
- Vance's Tackle silver/green tape dodger with green hoochie
- Rocky Mountain Tackle pink/green dodger with a pink UV splatter hoochie-mama
- Shasta Tackle copper melon Sling Blade dodger with a pink/natural Radical Glow tube

Followed up the next day on Scott's report and put 10 in the box after a slow start using RMT UV pink dodgers and hoochies. 30-38' was the best depth for us. Can't wait to get the new RMT copper pink dodger, that color combo worked great at the end of the day.

Fishon, what kind of transducer do you have? I have a Lowrance LCX 18C and I can't get the type of echo's your unit shows on your post ..... :-(
Thanks
Jim
