Hello all,
I'm Kyal (pronounced kyle) and I'm new to this forum. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am a big kokanee fisherman from Idaho. Most of our trolling is at Anderson or Arrow Rock, though we sometimes venture up to Lucky Peak for a quick dip. Three (or 4) weeks ago I went to Arrow Rock. It was freezing and we fished the mouth out to the opening and across to the ramp. We only caught 2 decent kokes. Two weeks ago I went to Lucky Peak and it was real warm. We fished all day, caught 8 and kept two...Never saw another boat land one. Mostly at the edge of the narrows and 100 yds off shore. I think right about now everyone is asking the same question: When is Anderson going to take off and what's going to come out of that deep water? Well...I'm wondering the same thing. Personally I feel as though the kokanee population and quality of fish has taken a massive downturn in the past 6-8 years. At least that's been our experience. I want to get up there in the next couple weeks. If anyone beats me to it feel free to share. Otherwise I'll report back when I go. FYI kokes are around 20 feet at Lucky Peak when their biting and I did hear from someone recently they limited on big ones at Arrow Rock last week.
