So heres the deal. A good friend of mine just put his dad into the new VA Home in Ogden and was talking to the Activities Director. Her name is Pauline. She was saying that all the vets wish they were able to go and do some fishing. Imagine that. Only problem is they don't have any equipment. She has asked if I knew of anyone that might have some old rods and reels laying around collecting dust that they could donate to the home, so these heros of ours can occassionally take there bus to a local fishing hole and try to catch a fish or two or at least get out and enjoy a great activity. I told her I might know a peson or two that might have something laying around. She only needs a dozen or two working rod and reel combos to have on hand. So if anyone might have something they can contact her direct at 801 334-4340 or if you don't live in the Ogden area but might be going up to next weeks derby, You can drop them off to me at Buckboard Camp Ground and I'll deliver them for you. Here is our chance to help out someone who has done so much for us.

I dont personaly have any extra eqiup. but would be willing to donate a day out on the lake with my equip. if something can be put together as a group just another option.

101hearye Yes, I have some equipment to donate!

Last year BigFishTackle sponsored an event named Vets Take A Vet Fishing (or something similar). It took place at Strawberry Reservoir and was a big hit for all. They took vets from the VA hospital in SLC. I don't see why something similar couldn't happen in the Ogden area for a day trip? Maybe a trip to Willard Bay or East Canyon would be just as fun? Are there any other KFF members interested in this type of event? If so, sound off here.

Rob , we have some extra stuff also . I think Mark is coming over today to pick it up . You can also count on us for the boat thing if need be signfishin

I'm also in for a day trip to help out our Vets. I'll supply my equipment as well. Rockport, E. Canyon, Jordanelle, or even Strawberry. I would have to gear up for Willard.

Roger,

I have surplus stuff to send down. Very good project to support. Send me your home Ad againn and I will mail a box to you to take in.

Thanks for everything guys. You shold of seen the smiles when we delivered the rods and reels everyone supplied. If you want to take a vet out fishing one day, give the Activities Director (Pauline) a call at 801 334 4340 and ask her what needs to be done to make it happen. They can still use another rod or two. Seems thaqt since the vets have found our they get to fish while in this home, request have been flowing in for for occupancy. Thanks again
