Saturday my daughter and I got up and went cod(crack of dawn) fishing at American Lake. I got one fish and my daughter and Dusty got a good sleep. Within 5 min of having downrigger lowered I had a hookup on my top line, 28'. Fish was a decent rainbow maybe 20" but got off right before my daughter could net him.. Hour or so later after a few more misses finally got a smallish kokanee to the boat.
So Sunday we decided to go to a lake in Olympia. Got there about 0815 and finally limited out 1100. Fish range from 9-12" small but still taste good.
Interesting note is 8 out of 10 fish were males.
