Tomorrow 6-25 to the Gorge for a day. Meeting up with a group of wonderful people from northern California. I need to knock some cobwebs off since its been a while that I have been out fishing and the Gorge too. I will be launching out of Buckboard. tooexcited

Roger, don't know if you have been paying attention to the numbers but they have been knocking the living $h*! out of the kokes. Yesterday's wrecking crew count was close to 200.

Well. where's the report, Roger? We're heading over July 10 for a few days fishing out of Lucerne. We usually do Buckboard, but wanted to mix it up a bit.

Roger has a one day trip to the Gorge hangover after long day on both the road and the water. The group he went up to meet has been destroying Kokes all week up at Buckboard. The members of the group that camped at Lucerne said it was the worst fishing they'd experienced on the south end in the last 12 years. They consequently made the trip up north every day. The last 2 days have slowed a bit at Buckboard and thought was that the fish might be on the move, headed south. You might get lucky and find fish at Middle Marsh by the time you get there.

A one day hangover is an understatement. Got up at 0230 and was on the road by 0330. Finally on the water by 0800. Within the first 10min caught a couple of kokes, one on cotton candy tipped with a natural color maggot behind a hyper plaid 5.5" dodger and the other on orange hoochie with spinner blade & glow beads also tipped with natural maggot behind another 5.5" hyper plaid dodger. Thinking that the bite was going to be phenomenal it all of a sudden went dead only to pick up an occasional straggler. For some that was in the group they could no wrong and others like me started struggling to the catch. It wasn't a skunk but this is not how I remember the bite at all. The changing of colors of lures such as white or blue hoochies along with some other color ranges would be productive. I'm in agreement that the kokes may be heading south. Numbers didn't overwhelm my graph like I'm use to seeing but there were still fish in the area. Ended with a 6 catch day but some descent size to them around 3lbs. Mostly the whole group was off the water by 1300. Not me since I wanted to make the most out of a one day trip so I stuck with it until 1500. It was great seeing previous friends as well as meeting new ones. We had a potluck that began about 1730, lots of good food. Back on the road at 1930 and home at 2230. BTW, I was in good company with the majority as SF Giants fans. The news came down as Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum threw a no hitter against the Padres.

GO GIANTS

Damn, I would have taken a day off work to go up with you. Guess I'm not worthy12

Mark, you seem so busy with other activities going on that I didn't think to ask. I wasn't sure of how things were going to work since I broke my thumb. Last minute arrangements never seem to work out. Craig rejected the offer which he might be pulling on that rope now that goes over his shoulder attached to his foot which allows him to kick himself in the a$$ for not going. laugh hyst I'm now looking for a day trip to Strawberry. That shouldn't have as much of an impact on my weary body since the drive is shorter. But you get the first shot at this time Mark. Holiday coming up but I'm avoiding that. Good news is we're getting closer to the "BRATS" weather. 101ok101

Hi Roger , hey I'm going to be staying up to Soldier Creek from 30 July to August 6th, for the Disabled Vets Fishing Event which is on August 2nd. You should come up one day and we can fish.

I'll have to think about it now. At least that gives me a month to recovery from my last trip. 101duh101 I'm getting to old to be doing what youngsters do. 101yawn

Glad to hear you made a trip out Roger. I am having multi day hangovers up here. Next week will be brutal as I am going to fish 5 days straight. It is the ony way to to abuse oneself.
