A one day hangover is an understatement. Got up at 0230 and was on the road by 0330. Finally on the water by 0800. Within the first 10min caught a couple of kokes, one on cotton candy tipped with a natural color maggot behind a hyper plaid 5.5" dodger and the other on orange hoochie with spinner blade & glow beads also tipped with natural maggot behind another 5.5" hyper plaid dodger. Thinking that the bite was going to be phenomenal it all of a sudden went dead only to pick up an occasional straggler. For some that was in the group they could no wrong and others like me started struggling to the catch. It wasn't a skunk but this is not how I remember the bite at all. The changing of colors of lures such as white or blue hoochies along with some other color ranges would be productive. I'm in agreement that the kokes may be heading south. Numbers didn't overwhelm my graph like I'm use to seeing but there were still fish in the area. Ended with a 6 catch day but some descent size to them around 3lbs. Mostly the whole group was off the water by 1300. Not me since I wanted to make the most out of a one day trip so I stuck with it until 1500. It was great seeing previous friends as well as meeting new ones. We had a potluck that began about 1730, lots of good food. Back on the road at 1930 and home at 2230. BTW, I was in good company with the majority as SF Giants fans. The news came down as Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum threw a no hitter against the Padres.
