Actually less than one year ago, I had a hand full of red wedding rings floating in my mess of unused tackle, that was the only Kok gear I had. Spent the day cleaning and organizing so I can build a few things for the boat. Looking at everything now, (most everything anyway), I understand why I spent last summer feeling broke. I'm sure this only scratches the surface of some of your guys collections but all organized it was impressed. This pile doesn't include all the rods n reels down riggers etc. Also thought this would be a good way to be able to rebuild some of the custom stuff if we should loose something that works good. Pictures already saved my bacon once, Shawn built one with a smile blade that flat rocks! Not sure what it is about it, but that thing will catch fish when nothing else will, anyway we lost it a couple of months ago but I was able to build more because I had taken pictures of it with some of the fish it caught.

the problem is we never strip down the ones that dont work because,,,,maybe someday**** and when we do have winners, we want a dozen because,,,, ya never know**** Every year I vow to weed out the iffy ones and the oddballs but wind up setting up another box instead. Hopeless

Just yesterday I took apart some non producing rigs. Now Im all twitchy and nervous and second guessing I could have used them somewhere.
But I have 4 boxes that do produce and a box thats so so to no good.
What a mess---I thought it was just me. Mabye we should have a meeting and get professional help.

I must admit that I too suffer from Tackle Envy. All I need to do is stop for gas anywhere and if they have a tackle section (large or small) I'm Hooked. I gotta buy something new.

Do the Spin-N-Glows work for kokanee or are they part of your river steelhead gear? I've tried them on kokanee around here with little to no success. What's the trick?

I too suffer from A.D.O.S. (Attention Deficit Ooh Shiny!) Saw some cool "Black Alien" Spin-n-glows yesterday. Black with green dots. Read a post today about how black lures work for kokanee. I think I need to get them for the "not used yet" collection.
I've used the half and half chartreuse/orange Spin-n-glows for kokanee and trout all my life in 5 states, usually ahead of a straight piece of nightcrawler (with a little tail extending beyond the hook bend). Smallest 2 sizes-12 and 14 I think. Now some come with reflective wings, uv finish, etc. Many available colors scream Kokanee.

Black with dots. Forget about putting them in your "not used yet" collection...get them straight into the "go to" box!! thumbsup

The winters are long here. I have a mess all over when it comes to starightening out my gear. bandmyhead I keep my bags in front of the television going thru stuff. My wife keeps after me to pick up my stuff and put it away. I keep asking "is it ice off yet". stomper Right when I think I'm done straightening a section out, I end up going back to it and reshuffling things again & again & again. I did the Sacramento ISE in January and walked out with a few goodies, not my fareshare of the take to my standards but the SLC ISE is coming soon. After sitting for hours going thru & thru my gear, I always visualize something I need. I wander if I can get to at least a portion of my retirement check this month before my wife does. whistlersmother
