Nothing beats Columbia Springers on the grill. Planning on going after them at least a few times this spring.

Some of the best!!!
last year they allowed 330 fish in the little goose pool. season was opened Sundays and mondays for 2 weekends. My oldest kid and I caught 4 fish of the total harvest. 1 fish a day. Then they did a late season open and he went down and they got 5 wild for every keeper. But still a good time. He and 3 other folks got 25 fish one day.

I'm sorting gear now and getting ready. I will be fishin with 400 of my closest friends most who I have never met!!

The sad part is we only are allowed 1% above the dam.

Under this year's initial catch guidelines, anglers fishing below the dam will be allowed to catch up to 12,400 spring chinook before an updated run forecast is released in late April or early May. Another 1,325 adult upriver chinook will be reserved for anglers fishing between Bonneville Dam and the Washington/Oregon state line.

Last year was a good salmon year (my freezer is still full)....this year should be GREAT! thumbsup

Agreed that springer is a meal that is to be cherished and savored with all the attention that it deserves.

I can't wait! I had the worst luck this last summer! The two trips I made out I lost three fish and missed out on the huge run!
Made up for it on the upper willamette coho though.101ok101

Sadly my beloved snow belly run isn't looking that great this year(might have to fish the Columbia this year)

I really hope we can get the water to start cooperating before the snow melt starts.
