My wife and I were up there yesterday. We caught our limit trolling on the east side of the lake. Started at 9:30. Did OK until around noonish then NOTHING. Trolled through tons of fish. Not a bite in the afternoon. The fish we caught yesterday weren't as soft as last week. We measured water temp at 63 on the east side of the lake. The mosquitos are active up there now!

I was up there also yesterday (posted report in your other thread.) We got quite a surprise gong up the road at around 5:45am. A few miles up from Hwy 20 eight large elk walked across right in front of us!! In all the times i've been up that road in the last 10 years i've seen alot of deer (17 one morning) but never an elk. A couple of the bulls had massive racks. 101shock1101

Yeah, bummer. My next venture that direction is Tuesday, August 14 to attack the upper Sycan and North Fork of the Sprague Rivers with my fly rod! Definitely want to get on Paulina before the season is over.
