I went today and bought a couple of rod alarms for kokanee fishing at the NW Sportsmen Show . The alarms are sensitive enough so you can hear them go off when I have simulated a kokanee bite (trying them out) attached to my Scotty downriggers in my garage . I believe a person needs Scotty rod holders different from the ones that come with the downriggers to accommodate the alarms so the poles will sound off . I 'm generally on the poles visually for the first 2 or 3 hrs on the lake but I usually loose some of my focus after that so the alarms will do there thing & alert me later on in the day . I also enjoy the scenery very much while trolling around the lake & don't monitor the poles very well at times . I wish everyone the best fishing at Merwin this year . If you see a white Motion Marine with a black top up there come over and say hi and ask me if my alarms have been going off .
