Does anyone here take pictures of their lures in case of fire or theft? If so what would be a good way to do it. I'm thinking maybe opening up the plano box's and putting a note with each one stating the qty and estimated value...does that sound about right? Is there anything else you can think of that might be needed? Thanks in advance...

That note wouldn't be accurate 2 days later. I would just take pictures of each of your plano boxes, count how many lures are in a full box and apply an average per lure cost to estimate the value of the box.

Show them somewhere that proves you have them (your living room). You would also want to add someting shown in the frame that has the date, like a newspaper.

I'd talk with the insurance agent and ask them the question.
Video can be good for that as well.

All great advice so far...Thanks! I called the agent yesterday and waiting for a call back... thought since he's only a couple blocks away he might want to stop by and take the pictures himself.

I have not shared that one with them yet; but it may be a good time! last time I had a review they asked if i wanted to drop my boat's value! I told them good suggestion actually I would like to raise it a lot (Replacement Value) 101shock1101 I had to itemize ..........

With an extensive lure collection, anything over 10K, the insurance company made me keep receipts, photograph the lures with the lure package backing attached, retain and store the package backing, photograph the lures in groups outside of the packaging and then video the lures in their respective lure cases that I use when fishing. I have 6-22 Gallon containers of just lure package backings.

Thanks for the info MMM...I remember you saying something about insuring lures in the past. The insurance agent said if I put a note with each plano box of lures with the qty and estimated value he'll come by and take the pictures. And I thought I had alot of lures! 101shock1101
