do any of you guys use one? i was thinking about getting one before i go to colorado for next summer instead of pulling a boat behind my camper from texas.

I have a 12 footer, it hangs on the pb hangers on the side of my camper when we go exploring new country and cant or dont want to tow the deep v or the pontoon. We push it with a 4hp Yammy 4 stroke that hangs on the campers ladder to the roof when we travel. It is a Very stable boat ,,but you must respect its limitations, flexibility, lower than usual sides , weight limits. I have had it in very rough water from Alaska to the Fla. keys with no more concerns than I would have with any little 12 footer. If I had it to do again I MIGHT go for the 14 or 16 but not really sure the extra would be worth it for just two people. Three or more and I would go bigger. For your average lake( been to the gorge)with standard small boat cautions ,its a sweet deal. Downside--- no place to mount a downrigger--upside, comfortable in a chop and will go all day on a cup of gas. Look used on ebey but only buy the square stern model and get the hook on wheels. Good luck

Word of warning: My buddy bought one and asked me if I wanted to try it out. I took it out and when leaning back to make a fairly sharp turn water began gushing in from the motor mount area. That was enough proof for me that I wasn’t ‘compatible’ with it! Also watched two older fishermen trying to load their gear in one at Stampede only to have the boat tip over and the occupant and all their gear fall into the water. Not the most stable boat out there and I’d be terrified in it during any kind of high wave action.

Square stern? Mine's been loaded with gas motor, trolling motor, two batteries, my almost 200 lb. tonnage in the stern, little wife and gear in the middle, in some rough water with no worries. It rides really nice actually. I do hear repeated warnings about the old model pointed on both ends style.
