I've just been told that the quick change clevis tends to open up when your playing a fish and lose blades. Hope not,, as I ordered a bunch and was about to build up some spinners. Does this happen to anyone else.?? Any fix???

ralph, my turn to ask, "why?" what is your thinking that had you get quick change clevis'?

RALPH L if you mean the plastic clips that are used to replace or exchange different spinner blades like let say on a wedding ring that come in different colors white, red, yellow black /I've used them never had a problem and they are nice to change different blades exspecially if one not working. I also use the metal clips that you can't remove the blade, just be carefull to use the correct size.

I only used folded clevises for in-line spinners...never tried the quick change type. I think you'll be fine though.

You want logic? I'm a tackle junky,!!! but they seemed bigger, easier to thread up (small holes and old eyes) and offer the option of changing the blade. Why change the blade, your about to ask*** Dunno, never had the option before, thought it might be a handy thing if conditions change. Too long winters and a touch of cabin fever. But, they do look nice.

Ralph I've been using the quick change clevises for several years and haven't had a blade come while fighting a fish. Also I think they might be easier on spinner leaders than metal clevises.

Love them, never an issue. I like to use them when I use a blade in front of a hoochie. If things change or inwant to add a blade to throw somwthingbat them different, it's just as easy as that.

If blade loss or breakage isn't an issue, and apparantly only one person(a tackle seller) says it is, than there's no downside. Sounds like the better way to go..

I haven't used them yet, but I did hear a trick from someone who does and has occasionally lost blades on them. When rigging his blades up at home he would put a dot of super glue to bridge the gap where the blade could fall off. When he wanted to remove the blade the superglue would pop out very easily, but it would not accidentally come out when fighting a fish. I'm not sure if he would use the super glue while making on-the-fly changes on the water or not.

I use these on all blades and have for several seasons. I don't understand how a blade can come off, unless the clevis is put on the line upside down.101eatdrink101
