We fished Riffe on Sunday, it was a 40 fish day. we targeted the coho's I've heard were there. They are there alright, the numbers must be vast! We fished 5 spots from the headwaters to the dam. I marked fish everywhwere, all at 40 to 60 feet. We tried all day to find the larger coho's and only caught 2 that were 14.5" All the rest were 9" to 10" fish. The top rigs were orange Vance's hoochies towed behind Seps #3 blue dodger and both chrome #1.5 apex and cop car 1.5 apex's towed behind shasta tackle 6" UV sling blades. We were also using Shasta tackles new flasher releases on all 4 downriggers.
Trolling speed was 2mph. We tried fishing deep also but all the fish came in at the above listed depths. We were tipping our lures with small pieces of herring on some and berkley pink maggots on others, both worked well.
We fished Sekui on Friday and Sat. We should have stayed and fished there Sunday also. We had never fish up there before but did well 5 Coho's on Friday and 15 coho's and one king on Sat. Lots of wild fish, we could only keep 3.
