I'm a green horn as far as Kokanee fishing goes. What lenght and action rod would you suggest for lead line. I have a 8' 3" AbuGarcia medium light rod that I was going to try on my next trip. I bought the lead line years ago and I put it on a old Daiwa 175 mooching reel tonight. What do you think ? Too light, Too Heavy or Just Right ???

use it, you will quickly get a feel for what you might change. long leader off the lead to your snubber more leader, dodger and your rig.. I only use a snubber with lead and it seems to help dampen the non stretch, unyielding lead. good luck, let us know

I use the Lamiglass Red Kokanee rods with my lead line set up, usually run 30-40 feet of 10LB Trilene XL (really stretchy and limber). No snubber, between the limber rod and stretchy leader, I don't usually loose many. Not familiar with that exact rod, but my guess is it is probably a bit stiff, try running a snubber to help soften it up a little.
