I found a couple of Scotty Hoochie Devil Butterfly lures and I can't figure out how to rig them. It is a similar to an Apex in design so maybe that is the secret in putting a hoochie on it. Ever heard of this animal?

The Scotty Hoochie Devil is a blade with a hoochie attached and works like an Apex. The only ones I've seen are @ 3-4 inches in length and are used primarily for salmon in the ocean. Here is a picture of a 2 inch hoochie we use for kokanee...

The blade is from Scotty and is smaller than the ocean salmon version. The hoochie is from Crystal Basin. I carry these on my website and they are called Hoochie Things . Hope this helps,

Ric

I have both the Crystal Basin and the Shasta Tackle pee wee uv wiggle hoochie versions. We used them at Flaming Gorge this year and they worked great. They have a great action to them on a short leader.

The Hoochie Devil I have has straight sides with a pinched waist and one "eye" on the top. I haven't been able to get a good picture of it to post but I'll keep trying. ( transparent chartreuse )

That's it! All I have is the blade part and no indea what the hoochie is that fits over it. Or how it is to be rigged; probably like the apex.

Like Ric (Kokaneemart) mentioned, that size is more for salmon fishing and uses a 3-4" hoochie. For kokes, you might try taking a dremel to it and making it smaller so a 2-2 1/2" hoochie can be attached. Just cut the nose off the hoochie and slide it up the back of your blade. The line would be threaded on like an apex... down through the back hole and up through the front one towards the dodger.

The one I have is the 2" model so now all I have to do is fit a hoochie on it up to the slots! Thank you all for the help.

We have used both the Shasta Tackle version and the Crystal Basin tackle version this season and they work great! You can put any small hoochie on them that you want.
