My annual trip to Sekiu this year was another one for the history books. Not as many Chinook to hand as my previous year's record (47) I wanted to break the 50 mark this year but we had plenty of fun trying to get to that point. I attribute that to the wettest July 1st opener on record according to the great folks at Van Ripers Resort where I stayed. But my trip was also shorter by one day, well there's alway's next year's trip to look forward too!!!
The largest Chinook for me this trip was only 22#, but I realeased quite a few wild fish in the 26#-28# range. We heard rumors of a few 30#-35# Chinook released during our trip. One of those must have been one that had gotten away from me!!! Just kidding!!!
See you folks on the water,
