We plan on hitting Lucerne monday and stay thru thursday. We have a 22ft pontoon with a full tent enclosure. We have fished the gorge a few times but didnt have a pontoon at the time. Is there better places to beach the boat up or down from Lucerne? We have taken it to Powell and it works great, just not that familiar with the gorge. A nice little cove would be awesome. Thanks, BTW if you see a Pontoon next week that says Bob and Amys Barge, say HI!!!!

From Lucerne go across Linwood Bay into the canyons, go under and past power lines and veer off to the left after you break into open area of water to near inlet of Horseshoe. There's a dock in the water that you can tie your boat to. If memory serves me there is also a portable out house there. thumbsup. If you go to the cutout you've gone to far. This is a good area and protected from very windy conditions. Hope this helps.

I don't know if there is anywhere on that lake that is guaranteed protection. I've been in the canyon seeking protection and the canyon was acting like a funnel with the wind howling through it. Wind direction is the key.

I know theres no guaranteed protection on any lake, I was just looking for a place or two that as a whole is a good spot. I was just looking for some options on which direction to head out from lucerne. We will have the stamps and ais handled so thats not a issue. Not the best boater in the world but have years of experience on big water and definetely respect mother nature!
