That's all I needed to see. Think 7-11 versus a real grocery store. One of those stores went up in my area and the inventory sucks. If Sportsman's let's you order online, it may or may not be of value to you for to the store free shipping.

Still has to be better than ACE hardware for sporting goods! Also if they ship to store for free that is definitely a bonus!

yeah im sure it will be better than ACE, and doesnt look like you're letting SuperD get you down, during the kokanee offseason he can be a "debbie downer" sometimes :(

Just been to enough small format stores to know that they don't have what I need. I apologize if I've brought down your mood.

Yes mike,it will be good for the people of sweetwater county to have sportmans come to rock springs. more choice is always good for the customer. I think it would be like the new store they have in Heber ut.

I am surprised to hear ace had sporting goods. Was it just a void they filled there? The ace near my house is pretty big beyond the tools bbq and wood you can find lawn furniture but that's about it.

While its great that Sportsmans is coming the RS, the problem comes down to this, when they do their tackle purchase from company's, they only order so much so often. they don't want to carry a bunch of overhead. when they have something you want, get it! because when its gone, its gone for a while until they decide to order back up again. this is just the way they do business. Ace in GR has always had a decent supply of things and if you really need it that bad, get on line and will get it right out to you and assure that you have what you want. It will be nice to have one more resource up that way for everybody for sure. it will keep things competitive!

Bduck tells me that they are building a small format Cabelas not to far from where several of us are in Utah. The free shipping to the store will be a big advantage for orders where shipping would cost more than a couple gallons of gas. Small orders will still be better to order online and have shipped directly to the house. As far as Sportsman's Warehouse goes, I have 2 stores currently near me here in Sacramento. One store is a large store and the other is a small one. The small stores seem to focus more on clothes than hunting / fishing supplies.

Our Sportsman's here in Helena doesn't really cater to the kokanee fisherman, but when I order on line and have it shipped to the store it usually only takes 3 - 5 days to arrive and they give me call to come get it. I almost prefer to browse and order on line rather than gamble that they will have what I want.
