Starweld Boats

In my quick hunting around the web, it looks like they are a division of Smoker Craft boats. They likely decided to try the welded boat market and came up with this line. Smoker Craft has been around a long time and deserves to be in a conversation when discussing boat possibilities.

I know NW marine & sport carries them in pasco I have seen them in the sportsman shows and there 2000, 1900, 1800,1700 look a lot like the smokercraft, millentia, pro mag, and ultima they are more popular in the mid west and east. dfly

thanks for the info, my old fiberglass bay boat only has a few more yrs before i outgrow it

at some point in the next 4 or 5 yrs i'm going to buy something aluminum and around 20 or 21' in length, im not too particular about all of the features, just something aluminum for under $20K (and it appears that only used boats will match my price range) that will last me 15-20yrs until i retire and get a brand new jet boat, i really like the hewes and wooldridge models

I think I'm gonna go with the starweld 2000 pro,I've looked and looked and can't seem to find anything else that fits except maybe a Lund ,but I don't want to pay an extra $10-20 K for the name,I think I might rather have a king fisher but nobody wants to sell me what I want ,just what they have so It looks like the Starweld is the best bang for the buck.I just wish they were just a smidge heavier, although they have been using this type of boat in the great lakes for years, and been fine,so maybe they are heavy enough.

that's why I ended up with my TJ. I bought a 16' smokercraft lodge it was wide and deep didn't use much fuel and an easy boat to load by my self, but it bounced around on the water like a cork you felt every wave and wake, and when a ski boat went by you better be sitting down and hanging on. I never felt like it would tip, but it was like riding in a car with no shocks. so a bigger heaver boat will give you a lot more stability. dfly

yeah the starweld 2000 pro is nothing like the smokercraft lodge, but point taken, I drove it around the Columbia some ,seemed like it rode pretty well, water was smooth so I couldn't give it a true test,
on the other hand if it is too rough I won't be out anyway
