Fished the ciffi melones derby with my good buddy Hi Tech Koke the day before. Although we didn't make the cut for the top 15 awards, I had a good day koke fishin with him as usual. It was all about location, location and the locations we worked, weren't the places we needed to be. From chewing the fat with a few of the other anglers in the derby, it seemed that the spillway had the bigger fish. After the derby, my pride got the best of me so I decided to stay in town and fish another day to see if I could find those better class of fish. In the process, I wanted to take my little buddy Jordan out fishing one more time before he goes back home to Indiana. So, after a brief phone call to his grandpappy, I had myself a couple of companions for Sunday.

Come Sunday, Jordan and his grandpaps Marni Bug Lopez meet me at the Tuttletown ramp at 5:30am and we were at the spillway by 6am. It didn't take long to find the fish but it did take a little wait to run across the biters. Pretty much the whole time we were fishin, my sonar screen showed me stupid amounts of kokes.

It was a matter of finding which offerings them finicky fish wanted. Once we figured it out, the fishing got stupid and it didn't take long to get the fish box occupied.

Orange copper spinners, pink mini hoochies, organge mini hoochies, Uncle Larry's too hot spinner, Copper Pop, and Hot Belly all caught fish. No special dodgers....copper gold stars, brass-red slingblades, gold Vances all worked fine.

We managed to keep the little guy busy all morning reelin in fish and feeding the ospreys. Unfortunately, the day had to come to an end and the little dude had a flight to catch back to Indy. Hopefully, this last fishing trip with Capt Al will be one of the highlights of his summer vacation.

Hi Tech and I could definitely have used a few of the fish we caught this day, but.....

Capt Al out
