The Gorge 8/20/11

We hit the gorge again this weekend for some more fun. Started with Hot Glow Pink squid behind Shattered dodger, Black Pearl spinner behind Silver Streak dodger, Hot Tail Green squid behind Matrix dodger, and Joker spinner behind Orange Crunch dodger. We marked alot of fish at 70 feet down on the Buckboard side so dropped down from 65 to 72 feet. Action was fairly quick with one koke taking the Hot Glow pink and five others that took the Black Pearl spinner. Finished with our limits about 8:30 and re-rigged for rainbows and lakers, but no takers. Made Sunday morning kinda nice for sleeping in, and then having a killer breakfast. Three to four pounders this time, no reds.

We were up there on Saturday for a while until the ligh show started around 130. Fished around wildhorse in 80-85 feet. Most fish were caught on a green UV squid stuffed with UV Orange beads behind a prototype 8 inch RMT dodger trolled at 1.4 mph. A few more were caught with a pink haze squid behind the same dodger. Not as fast fishing as usual but steady. The crew wanted to keep some for dinner and pictures being none had caught reds before.
