Time of year

When do you start fishing for Kokanee? Last year I went March 23 to American Lake and got my limit.
This year I went January 8 and got 0.

I won't be out until April. You can catch fish before that but they are usually skinny snakes, at least in Green Peter they are. They don't start bulking up until April and May.2cents

Drove down to the ramp and saw 2 rigs parked there. Both boats were trolling so I'm guessing they were fishin for kokes or?

Fished American Lake the last 2 Saturdays for 3-4 hrs each day and came up with Nada. Talked to a few others out there and they were having the same luck that we did. Marked fish scattered throughout the Lake.
