I am from the portland area and have got a chance to fish timothy wants in the winter before the snow. Caught 1 that was 13 inches but no other takedowns was pretty crappy weather didn't fish for too long anyways. Was wondering if anybody's had any good advice on this lake I know it has a 25bag limit so would like to fish it. Plus when does the snow usually thaw enough to get up to the lake

We fished it last year in June and the fish were 2 sizes- 6-7 inches and 9-10 inches but LOTS of them. We fished about 3 hours and boated 26, lost another dozen and had a couple other takedowns. It seems like the lake is overpopulated with small kokes. Need to get lots of people fishing and keeping them to get some larger fish early in the season. Pretty lake and fun to fish. We will try to get there again this june.

Fished it several times over the last few years and I agree with kenamatic very small fish in deed. Lots of take downs but there needs to be some thinning out I'm afraid. As far as when you can get in there, well depending on how much snow they get up there this time of year I think mid May you should be okay getting in there maybe sooner.

Last year, I got in there sometime around mid to late April. And it was a lot of fun. Kokes are wayyyyyy too small but the bow's aint too bad. I actually just drove past the turn-off to it last weekend but it didn't look too promising yet.

We were mainly getting the kokes at about 45-60 feet trolling at 1.2-1.4mph if I remember right. We only got 1 trout at that depth and the other 2 came when we put a long line out to see if anything was on top.
