Hi there,
I'm looking for alternate ways to setup my bow mount trolling motor - actual placement install *and* electrical.

I've been searching the net and find this to be a common question - I think it would be helpful to many to see photos of different options. I've search this site and haven't found any - but, am I missing them?

My motor (MinnKota PowerDrive V2) came only with a short power lead with two small circular terminal ends - and no further instruction other than a suggestion to "consult the ABYC and USCG requirements"... really??

If any of you wouldn't mind posting pictures of how you have mounted your motors *and* how you have completed your wiring harness to the battery - I think that would be a great add to the site (kind of selfishly though, at this point.. heh).

Help?

Check this video out for some BASIC help. http://youtu.be/t3iZDXs0sXc

If this is not what you're looking for check your owners manual for your particular model. Most are mounted running off the starboard side of the bow.

Hope this helps? If not, ask us more specific questions and I'm sure someone else will provide some answers.

Good Luck!

Thanks - yah, I did have a look at that before starting this project. Problem is with my boat, its not a flat bow - but instead, it has a 4" lip surrounding the deck. I had to build a platform to get it to extend over the lip.

The wiring is the real pain. Found parts, but $$$ holy moly. $67 for a 2-wire plug? My batteries are in the back and the motor came with a 3' lead - what the heck is with that? I was just hoping it would be an install where I could pull it out of the box, mount it, wire it and go. Its been 3 days. Ellensburg isn't exactly the boating mecca so finding parts isn't easy. heheh

Thanks!
