I think the main concideration is the lure being used. I try run lure's like the Apex a bit faster than other lures. The speed your doing for the lure being used will dictate the type of dodger...some are for a slow troll and others are best at higher speeds. The main thing is to look at the action of both the lure and dodger along side the boat and adjust your speed for the best action. Some days the kokes will let you know if you need to go faster or slower. As your doing "S" turns the outside lure speeds up and the inside lure slows down. Look for a pattern on what rod gets hit the most and adjust your speed accordingly.
