My buddy and I purchased RMT serpent spoons a few years ago and while I have had good luck with these on both trout and kokanee, I have experienced the paint coming off. Most recently after a few small trout, the once colorful spoon was almost all silver except for a bit of paint in the front. That said, they have always continued to catch fish, paint or no. Anyone else use these and experienced this? Maybe this was a bad batch, and(or) maybe they have improved their painting as they seem to just be painted over unprepped metal? Maybe I'll just knock the pant off the rest and go catch some fish, although it'd then be nice if they also came in copper or gold metal.

No problem, I had bought a few to try and I just wondered if the paint thing was more generalized problem before I purchased more because they have been fish producers for me - not all the time, but sometimes have been the only ticket.

Thanks, Jared. Maybe we can catch up at the Gorge some day. Seems that mine was an isolated issue from what you and others have said.

Also, just to let everyone know, RMT products have produced a lot of fish for me, and Jared has been most generous with his time and advice teaching me how to fish kokanee including letting us follow him out at the Gorge for our first attempt at kokes. Not that I really know anything, but I have fun trying and have had some modest success thanks to Jared and forums like this.
