walker manual downriger adjustment

Does anyone know how to adjust a manual Walker downriggers Clutch/Brake? Can't find anything on Walkers website or internet. Last time out fishing, reeling in the downrigger was a real chore I think the brake is slightly engaged when I reel in.

I have 4 electric Walker that have a big star adjustment in center of spool that is used to adjust the clutch. I noticed 2 different styles of manual Walkers. The horizontal crank is similar to mine with star adjust. Assuming you have the other style vertical crank, which I can't tell from picture but thinking it might be done thru center of crank handle.
