This was our forth trip to Wallowa in 2 years. What a great place !
The fishing was great and there werent to many boats, playing or fishing.
Frist 2 days were good weather and then a storm came in changed everything up for us.
Frist 2 days everything was caught on one type of pink hootchie or another but mainly pink in color. Ran sling blades that were hyper plaid in front.
When the weather changed our best was a spinner in green color on blade and a red bead body also behind a hyper plaid sling blade.
We had good results with many set ups. We run 4 downriggers and start with 4 different colors and depths until we lock in in to what they want.
best GPS speed was 1.1 but some of the bigger ones came a little faster
We ended up cathing a lot of fish in the 1.5 lbs class. Most of these were starting to get red.
Biggist was a 4 lb.3 oz.
We only kept a dozen or so fish for four days with over 100 caught. I think this lake could be delicate with to many fish being kept. I dont save a lot of fish most we keep are hooked bad or over handled to get them un hooked we just keep enough to eat or a canner full or smoke.
Our friend kept his 4 lber for a mount.
